Vegan Onion Dip

You’ll get dental health bonus points for this appetizer if you choose cruciferous vegetables to serve alongside it. Onions and garlic provide antimicrobial properties while cruciferous vegetables bring plenty of disease-fighting sulforaphane. Plus, this dairy-free onion dip is delicious!

Vegan Onion Dip

Ingredients

 1 onion (diced)
 2 garlic cloves (minced)
12 oz non-dairy yogurt (plain, unsweetened)
1 tsp vegan worcestershire sauce (+1 tsp as desired)
 fresh chives (chopped, to taste)
 salt (optional, to taste)
 ground black pepper (to taste)
 veggies (for dipping)

Directions

1

Line a skillet with a thin layer of water.

2

Add the onions and sauté until they’re brown and caramelized, about 30 minutes. (Add 1 tbsp of water to deglaze the pan and prevent sticking.)

3

Once the onions are caramelized, add the garlic and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

4

Transfer the onion mixture to a small bowl, and chill for 30 minutes.

5

Stir in the yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, and chives and stir to combine.

6

Season with salt and pepper.

7

Taste, adding more salt, pepper, chives, or Worcestershire sauce.

8

Serve with veggies.
