WEATHERED FISH

These weathered little fishes are the homemade version of those we find in the market stalls or street vendors of Mexico City. Prepare them for a weekend of craving and accompany them with various garnishes, such as rice, coleslaw or lettuce, tomato and cucumber. We assure you that our version of weathered fishes is one that can be enjoyed by children and adults. What will you accompany or season with?

WEATHERED FISH

Ingredients

4 Servings
  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • to taste of black pepper
  • enough of mineral water
  • 2 cups of fish in strips
  • 1/4 of cup of lemon juice
  • to taste of salt
  • enough of vegetable oil
  • enough of spicy sauce To accompany
  • potatoes sauteed, to accompany

Preparation

In a bowl, mix the wheat flour with the baking powder, salt, pepper and mineral water until it is semi-thick. Reservation.
Marinate the fish with lemon juice and salt for 10 minutes. Then dip the fish in the flour preparation.
Heat a pot with enough oil and fry the fish for about 10 minutes. Serve with garnish chips and hot sauce; accompany with dressings and enjoy.
