The basic idea was to press the leftover stuffing/dressing down into the pan in the basic shape of a slice of bread, top it with cheese, leftover roast turkey, cranberry sauce etc. and grill it up until the cheese has melted and the outsides are nice and golden brown and slightly crispy!
Thanksgiving Grilled Cheese Sandwich
A Thanksgiving leftover 'grilled cheese sandwich' where the slices of bread are made with flattened stuffing and the sandwich is full of cheese, turkey and cranberry sauce! Yum!
ingredients
- 1 cup cheese, shredded
- 2 cups stuffing
- 4 ounces turkey breast, sliced
- 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce
- 2 tablespoons gravy
directions
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup cheese into a pan over medium heat followed by 1/2 of the stuffing, pat the stuffing down into something that loosely resembles the shape of a slice of bread, top with 1/4 cup cheese, the turkey, cranberry sauce, 1/4 cup cheese, the remaining stuffing and cheese and carefully press down until flat before cooking until both sides are lightly golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 2-4 minutes per side.
- Enjoy warm topped with the gravy!
