These Spicy Blackberry Margaritas are my new favorite. Just the right amount of spice, and such a vibrant and pretty color. Love at first sip.
SPICY BLACKBERRY MARGARITAS
INGREDIENTS
- 2 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 4.5 ounce can chopped Old El Paso green chiles
- 1 cup lime juice
- 3 ounces 2 shots blackberry brandy
- 2 1/2 cups orange juice
- 3/4 cup good quality tequila
- 3 tablespoons agave nectar or more to taste
- Coarse sea salt or salt flakes and chili powder for rim
- blackberries and lime wedges for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the lime juice, blackberries, and green chiles in a small bowl. Using a muddler or immersion blender, muddle/blend until fully combined. The smoother the better.
- Pour the blackberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer and remove the seeds. For me, the mixture was relatively thick so I pressed it through using a spoon to get all the juice out.
- Pour the juice into a pitcher, followed by the blackberry brandy, orange juice, tequila, and agave. Stir to fully combine.
- Combine sea salt and chili powder (equal parts) on a plate. Dip the rim of each glass in water or lime juice and then submerge in the salt/chili mixture.
- Fill each glass with ice and then pour in the margaritas.
- Garnish with blackberries and lime wedges. Enjoy!
