Matcha is a bit different than other green teas. The green leaves are steamed,
ground into a powder and then consumed – rather than steeped in hot water in a tea bag and then discarded, as you might with regular green tea. Because of this, matcha retains its nutritional value and does not have a bitter taste. It has a smooth, creamy texture that makes it a perfect ingredient for smoothies.
Ingredients
- 2 cups almond milk
- 2 cups ice
- 1 banana
- 2 Tbsp coconut kefir or coconut yogurt
- 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 2 tsp organic matcha tea
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp raw honey, or to taste
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Cacao nibs, for topping
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients together. Sprinkle with cacao nibs.
