Spicy Lentil Rice Burgers [Vegan]
Ingredients
For the Patties:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 cup brown rice, cooked
- 3/4 cup red lentils, cooked
- 1/2 cup panko bread
- 1/2 cup sunflower seed kernels
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons red chili pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
For Garnish:
- Vegan mayonnaise
- Lettuce
- Pickled jalapeño peppers
- Avocado slices
- Microgreens
Preparation
- Pulse all the ingredients in the food processor a few times until more or less uniformly mixed. Don't overdo it though, leave some texture.
- Taste and adjust the salt.
- Shape into patties and cook both sides in a pan until a golden-brown crust develops.
