Hibiscus and Rose Cordial

This hibiscus and rose cordial is a fresh, vibrant, and delightful beverage that tastes like a little sip of spring. The hibiscus and rose petals are simmered in a pot of water with a touch of agave and finished with a splash of lime juice to complete this simple but elegant drink.



  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers (see notes)
  • 1/4 cup dried rose petals
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup agave syrup
  • 1 lime, juiced


  1. Add the dried flowers, water, and agave into a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat and bring it to a low simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. In the meanwhile, sterilize a glass bottle with boiling water and dry it with a kitchen towel.
    After 30 minutes of simmering, take the cordial off the heat, stir in the lime juice, and leave the cordial to cool for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Use a cheesecloth or kitchen cloth and a funnel to strain the cordial into the sterilized bottle.
  5. Taste it and add more agave if desired. Serve cold with sparkling water.
