Jus De Citron (Haitian Lemondade)
Ingredients
- 4 Lemon Cut in halves
- 3 Cups Water
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 Tsp Kosher Salt
- Ice
- Mint Optional
Instructions
- Wash and cut the lemon in half.
- In a pitcher, add squeeze the lemons to release the juices into the pitcher. Then add the water, sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Stir well.
- Add ice if serving right away or chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve and Enjoy!
Notes
- If you find the juice to be too sweet, add 1/2 cup water to reduce the sweetness.
- The mint is optional, but it does bring some freshness to the drink.
