Are you looking for a hug? Because that’s what this warm and soothing breakfast feels like with aromatic cinnamon, the sweet taste of pear, and the satisfying texture of nuts and cranberries. Spiralized pear is nestled between the nutty granola before baking into a breakfast that just might become a family staple.
Cinnamon Pear Cranberry Crumble
Ingredients
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Make the crumble: Add the maple, vanilla, cinnamon and salt (if using) to a large bowl. Mix well.
Add the coarsely ground pecans, almonds and oats to the bowl and mix until the nuts and oats are coated in the maple mixture.
Add half of the nut and oat mixture to a parchment-lined 8x8 baking dish or 9” round baking dish (or similar size).
Lay the spiralized pears evenly on top.
Sprinkle the cranberries on top.
Add the remaining crumble.
Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Chef's Notes
Spiralizing the pear
In order to spiralize the pear you’ll need a just nearly ripe pear. If it’s too soft, it’ll turn to mush in the spiralizer!
Substitutions
In place of pear use apple.
Instead of cranberries use another dried fruit of your choice like figs or goji berries.
In place of pecans and almonds, try walnuts and hazelnuts.
Nut-free
Instead of pecans and almonds, use sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.
Sugar-free
In place of maple syrup use date paste.
