Paleo Fruit Salad

Sometimes the tastiest and most nutritious of breakfasts can come out of literally throwing
everything into a big bowl, mixing it up, and then digging in with a fork. That is certainly the case with this tasty little number! As I’ve mentioned in the ingredients list, all of the fruits that I’ve chosen can be adjusted based on seasonal and regional availability, and of course your own preferences. The honey is also an optional ingredient although I very strongly recommend trying it at least once because the combination of fresh fruits and honey is enough to pick me up in the morning, and I can assure you that I am not a morning person!
Paleo Fruit Salad
Prep Time:5 minutes
Yield:2-4
Ingredients:
  • 1 large red apple, diced
  • 1 peach, peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1 -2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc.)
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • ¼ lb red grapes, halved or whole
  • 1 cup pineapple, sliced
  • Freshly squeezed juice of ½ a lemon or lime (I prefer lime)
  • 1 – 2 Tbsp raw honey (optional)
  • sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Peel, pit, slice, and dice your fruits as prescribed.
  2. Gently mix together your prepared fruits in a large mixing bowl until everything is nice and evenly distributed.
  3. Drizzle with honey and cinnamon if desired.
  4. Serve with a generous squeeze of citrus juice and enjoy!
If you’re not really in the mood to cook anything then I find that a simple combination of fruits and/or veggies can really help you to get some decent early morning nutrition with very little effort.
